Since 1875, Churchill Downs, with its iconic twin spires constructed in the fall of 1894, has been home of the Kentucky Oaks and Kentucky Derby. Locals and horse aficionados from around the world turn their eyes to the famous thoroughbred racetrack on the first Saturday in May.
What many don’t know is that Churchill Downs has three racing season. The spring meet begins one week before the Kentucky Derby and continues until early July. A new Friday through Sunday meet, for four weeks, starts after Labor Day and the traditional fall meet picks-up in late-October and closes Thanksgiving weekend.
Here at Stoneware we celebrate the power of Thoroughbred horses and the excitement of the Kentucky Derby festivities year-round in our collection of Just Add Bourbon®, Churchill Downs Twin Spires and Embossed Running Horse designs.
